Graduate Student Housing - A Decisive Step
image

With the launch of Holy Trinity Seminary’s Master of Divinity program two years ago, we have thankfully received many applicants eager to serve our church. In order to accommodate this influx of students, we are grateful to God to be able to announce plans for graduate student housing within the monastery’s St. Elizabeth Skete complex.

The property, situated just down the road from the seminary, can offer attractive living space for these new students, both single as well as married with children. With its close proximity to the seminary and monastery, this allows convenient and easy access to church, classrooms, library, and other facilities.

The property also includes a cluster of houses, complete with a small chapel, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The sisters presently residing at the Skete are moving to a new location not far from the monastery.

To begin accomplishing all of this right away, immediate and much-needed renovations are required – namely, the repairs of House #1, and other related upgrades, including the replacement of a chimney on a Seminary-owned house where graduate students presently reside. This “first-phase” carries a project budget of $34,000.  We humbly ask for your assistance.  Please give generously to enable us to complete this by the end of this year.

As we eagerly approach the commemoration of Holy Trinity Seminary’s 75th Year (2023), we are planning an inspiring array of activities and forward-looking initiatives such as the creation of a new liturgical arts library and the rescheduling of the international conference entitled “Russian Ecclesial Identity in a Changing World: Pathways, Thresholds…Formative Encounters” (originally announced for October 2020). Successful completion of housing for our church’s future clergymen will provide a fitting start to this anniversary celebration!

By helping us reach such a worthy goal, you will join in affirming the seminary’s legacy and its commitment to providing Orthodox parishes with well-trained priests and deacons.  In addition, all donors to projects related to our approaching 75th anniversary - including this appeal - will be included in a special roster of sponsors to be published as part of the forthcoming celebration.

You can donate electronically through our HTS website or through PayPal as well as the HTOS Facebook page. Personal checks can be mailed to Holy Trinity Seminary - PO Box 36 - Jordanville, NY 13361.

Please note: If giving through the website, make sure to choose ‘Programs and Facilities’ in the ‘I want to support’ dropdown menu. Donations through PayPal or by check should be clearly earmarked to the same program.

Help us help you, our church family, by enabling us to provide more laborers for the harvest.  Please give generously!  We thank you sincerely and ask God’s blessings on you and your family.
