On this Giving Tuesday 2025, we begin by presenting a wonderful testimonial from Mitred Archpriest Stefan Pavlenko, who is among Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary's most distinguished alumni. Fr. Stefan is a member of the class of 1971, is the longtime rector of the Church of All Russian Saints in Burlingame, California, and is the Director of the Holy Trinity Alumni Association.
"My choice to come to seminary was based on the fact that from youth at first with my parents and then on my own, as a Summer Boy, I visited Holy Trinity Monastery on a regular, and extended basis. Becoming acquainted with the Monastics and also the Seminary Students to whom I became a "sidekick" of sorts. Films taken by a Seminarian featured me going through the Wheat Field up to the original "Cross on the highest hill." (Years later my graduating class (1971) built and put up a brand new CROSS ON THE HILL!)
The Monastic Community, the complete cycle of Liturgical Life, the immersion into the Orthodox Rhythm of Prayer, Fasting and Liturgical Feasts developed a built in spiritual Gyroscope that serves me, in my own (weak as it may be) spiritual pilgrimage, but also, to be a helpful guide to those who put their trust in me, in their own spiritual accent.
As President of the Alumni Association of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary, Jordanville, I appeal to you personally with a request to make a donation to the call for needed funds for this very important institution of our Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.
For over 75 years the Seminary has been training men to earnestly and lovingly preserve our customs and heritage and faithfully serve our church, protecting its unique heritage. May God bless you in this God pleasing endeavor, and may The Lord multiply abundantly all your earthly and heavenly bounties for the sake of your generosity. Please see the below original appeal and means by which you can transfer funds."
With best wishes this Nativity and Holy (Sviatki) Season, I deeply thank you for your donation, prayers and support,
- Archpriest Stefan Pavlenko (HTOS Class of ‘71)
Why Does The Future of the Seminary Matter Today?
Thank you to all who have already shown such generosity this morning on this day of Giving! 🌳Your support reaches far beyond the walls of our seminary. It touches real people, real parishes, and real communities who will one day be guided by the young men studying here today.
The students at Holy Trinity Seminary could have chosen to pursue various career paths in the secular world, yet they have chosen to serve Christ and His Holy Church. They arrive with a desire to give their lives to something greater than themselves. Through spiritual, academic, and pastoral formation, they will, God willing, grow into the clergymen who will baptize our children, comfort our families, preach the Gospel, and strengthen parish life for years to come.
Your gift today makes a direct impact on the people our seminarians will serve tomorrow. To donate today, please visit www.hts.edu/donate
