Seminary’s Patronal Feast of the Three Hierarchs and the Great Feast of the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple will include two Episcopal Consecrations; Schedule announced (courtesy of the EAD)

Beginning this evening, on The Feast of the Three Hierarchs; Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom (Jan 30/Feb 12) Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary will celebrate its Patronal Feast. In reality, this is considered the patronal feast of every Orthodox Seminary, regardless of the feast or saint to which the local community is dedicated. Profound gratitude is to be expressed to each one of our dedicated faculty members, the members of the administration, the monastic fathers and brothers, and the students (past and present) for making this Seminary the very special place that it has been for many years now, and that it remains!

This year, the monastery and the seminary were given the honor by His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas and the ROCOR Synod of Bishops of being designated to host the episcopal consecrations of two candidates; Archimandrite Spyridon (Gusakov, Bishop-elect of Toronto, Vicar of the Diocese of Montreal and Canada) and Archimandrite Michael (Crowley, Bishop-elect of Boston, Vicar of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York). The nominations and consecrations will take place during the Divine Services over the course of the next several days at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY as follows:

Wednesday, February 11

5:00 PM – Nomination of Archimandrite Spyridon as Bishop of Toronto.
7:00 PM – All-Night Vigil

Thursday, February 12 – Three Hierarchs
(Gold vestments)

9:00 AM – Divine Liturgy and hierarchal consecration of Archimandrite Spyridon as Bishop of Toronto.

Friday, February 13

6:00 AM – Hierarchal Liturgy to be celebrated by Bishop Spyridon of Toronto.

Saturday, February 14
(Blue vestments)

5:00 PM – Nomination of Archimandrite Michael as Bishop of Boston.
7:00 PM – All-Night Vigil

Sunday, February 15 – Meeting of the Lord, Meatfare Sunday

9:00 AM – Divine Liturgy and hierarchal consecration of Archimandrite Michael as Bishop of Boston.

Monday, February 16 – Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Nicholas of Japan

6:00 AM – Hierarchal Liturgy to be celebrated by Bishop Michael of Boston.
