Priest Daniel Franzen
Instructor of Church History and Dogmatic Theology; Staff Associate
Rev. Daniel Franzen was born and raised in southern California. After high school, Fr. Daniel enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his 10 years on active-duty military service (2003-2013), he earned a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel in South Carolina, and converted to Orthodoxy. In January of 2017, Fr. Daniel was ordained to the diaconate by His Eminence, Archbishop Peter, to serve at Sts. Joachim and Anna Orthodox Church in San Antonio, TX. In June of 2017, Fr. Daniel graduated from The Orthodox Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR) and was ordained to the priesthood by His Eminence, Metropolitan Philip of Poltava. Fr. Daniel graduated summa cum laude from Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary in Jordanville, NY in 2020, earning a Master of Divinity degree.
Fr. Daniel is married to his wife of 15 years, Macrina, and they have two daughters, Melania and Bridget.
