Naming Rights Offered at HTOS

The Seminary building has, for many years, been named in honor of the first dean, Nicholas N. Alexandrov. In the coming months, a ceremony will be scheduled to name the main hall as ‘The Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov Hall’.

To add to those distinguished names, a major contributor, either an individual or a group, may now secure “naming rights” to endowed or term professorial chairs, the Seminary library, any one of the five primary classrooms, the new faculty office/lounge, or the new reading room at Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary.

You may name any of the above spaces to honor a family member (or members), a beloved priest or bishop, or even a saint of the church on an annual or multi-year basis, or in perpetuity.

A very high priority is funding to hire, per our agreement with the NY Board of Regents, two new full-time graduate-level Assistant Professors—one in Church History and the other in Pastoral Theology—no later than September 1, 2019. A key prerequisite for appointment to either position is an earned Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Theology (Th.D. or Dr. Theol.) degree.

As many of you are aware, several weeks ago Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary successfully reached our most recent fundraising goal for the new Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree program, and so we were able to award full tuition & books scholarships ($10,000 apiece) to all incoming M.Div. students for the 2018-2019 academic year.  However, our needs reach far beyond the funding of graduate and undergraduate scholarships and two new full-time professors.

We need assistance meeting our operating expenses, improving the compensation packages for current faculty and administrators, and improving our infrastructure.

Donations to secure naming rights, which start at $10,000, will go a long way towards helping us on these multiple fronts.

Feel free to contact Deacon Michael Pavuk by e-mail ( or by phone (570-466-0009) to discuss how you can help us to, God willing, ensure that we can meet our expenses, continue our unprecedented growth in the months and years ahead, and fulfill our fundamental mission of forming future priests and deacons in “Traditional Orthodoxy for the 21stCentury.”
