Jordanville’s Seminary Choir visits St Panteleimon’s Parish in Hartford, CT

On the weekend of February 22-23, the Sunday of the Last Judgement, and with the blessing of His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse, seminary rector,  Jordanville’s Holy Trinity Seminary Choir traveled to St. Panteleimon’s Russian Orthodox Church in Hartford, Connecticut. The delegation was led by Dr Nikolai G Schidlovsky, seminary dean. Dean Nikolai and the choir were joined by Priest Ephraim Willmarth, Asst. Dean, Director of Admissions and Registrar.

Under the direction of Fr. Deacon Nicholas Kotar, the seminary choir sang the responses at the All Night Vigil on Saturday, February 22, as well as at the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning. The Divine Liturgy was led by His Grace, Bishop NICHOLAS of Manhattan, asisted by Archpriest Dionisy Nalitov, rector of the parish, assisted by Deacon Yevgeniy Utnyukhin, St Panteliemon’s parish deacon, and Deacon Michael Pavuk, Director of Development at Holy Trinity Seminary. 

His Grace, Bishop Nicholas brought an Icon of St. Martha of Tambov, containing her holy relics, which was gifted to the parish by Metropolitan Theodosy of the Tambov and Rasskazov diocese.

The parish sisterhood offered sumptuous meals following the All Night Vigil, as well as on Sunday after the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy, where Bishop Nicholas and the seminary delegation joined in to enjoy the parish’s annual maslanitsa dinner, which also included blini. Following the Sunday meal, the seminary choir also put on a brief concert.

The next seminary choir trip is tentatively planned for the end of March, 2020 to London (Ontario) and Toronto Canada. Check back to the seminary’s Facebook page and website for additional details.
