Throughout the weekend of June 16th - 18th, HTOS Deputy Dean of Students, Hieromonk Theodore (Stanway), delivered a series of lectures at Saint Tikhon Orthodox Church in Blountville, TN.
With the blessing of Bishop LUKE and at the invitation of parish rector Archpriest Matthew Williams, Hieromonk Theodore delivered a lecture following Vespers on the evening of Friday 16th June, entitled, Living a Christ-Centered Life in a Secular World, followed by a Q&A session in a church that was standing room only. After trapeza on Sunday 18th June, he delivered a follow-up lecture entitled Five Steps to Sin - And How to Avoid Them, also followed by a Q&A session.
The full cycle of services were served every day and Divine Liturgy was concelebrated three times, with Hieromonk Theodore preaching twice. A parish hike to a local waterfall also took place, as well as many hours of profitable fellowship with the many parishioners and visitors.
On the return journey, Hieromonk Theodore paid a visit to the Gettysburg battlefield and met with fellow ROCOR clergymen, Protodeacon Patrick Mitchell and Deacon Paul Siewers, for a tour of the historic site.
