The Summer Youth Program at Holy Trinity Monastery was created to introduce young men to the deep spiritual traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. The program aimed to help them grow in spiritual discipline, commitment, and self-control through active involvement in the monastic community.
During the program, participants took a break from computers, internet, cell phones, and other electronic devices. The young men worked everyday alongside the monastics in their various daily tasks, including tending the monastery's cemetery, working in the vegetable garden, caring for the chickens, cooking for the brotherhood, and assisting with construction and repair projects. They also had the chance to enjoy summer recreational activities such as sports, swimming, hiking, fishing, campfires, and field trips.
This past year saw one of the largest enrollments in the program's history. To accommodate as many participants as possible, the administration decided to split the usual three-week program into two distinct sessions. The first session, lasting two weeks, was for the older age range, while the second session, which lasted one week, was for boys who were in the younger age range for the program.
