Seminarians from Holy Trinity participate in OISM retreat at St. Tikhon's Seminary

With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas (Olhovsky), seminarians representing Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary (HTOS) attended a retreat over the weekend of November 8-10, 2024, which was organized by the Orthodox Inter-Seminary Movement (OISM) at St. Tikhon’s Monastery and Seminary in South Canaan, Pennsylvania. The students engaged in discussions, attended services, and strengthened bonds with fellow Orthodox seminarians.

These retreats are held twice a year, during the fall and spring semesters, with the hosting seminary rotating each time. This rotation allows seminarians to visit different institutions, gaining exposure to their routine, environment, faculty, and the various traditions of the respective jurisdictions. Interesting topics are often the topic of discussion among the students and faculty at these retreats. This increased communication between the seminarians at the grass-roots level fosters connections that will, God willing, last for many decades. This allows future clergy from various jurisdictions to get to know one another, so as to increase mutual understanding, and hopefully to benefit each participant in their respective future pastoral ministries
