Rev. Hierodeacon Methodios

Senior Lecturer in Liturgics, Sacred Arts, and Music

(2021–2025)

 

Rev. Hierodeacon Methodios (Marko Pranić) served as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Liturgics, Sacred Arts, and Music at Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary from 2021 to 2025. During his tenure he taught courses in liturgical theology, principles of liturgy, the eight tones, choral conducting, Orthodox dogmatic theology, and guided both undergraduate and graduate theses.

A candidate for the Doctorate in Theology at the University of Belgrade, he holds the Sacrae Theologiae Licentiatum (S.T.L., magna cum laude) from the Liturgical Institute of the University of St. Mary of the Lake, a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology from St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry, a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Rochester, and a Sacrae Theologiae Baccalaureatum (S.T.B., cum laude) in Philosophy and Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Fr. Methodios has also taught at the Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome/Zagreb) and St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry (Rochester, NY), where he served both in the classroom and in academic administration.

In addition to his teaching, he is active as a composer of sacred choral music. His published works include Nunc Dimittis (2021), Canon of the Eucharist I & II (2023–2024), and Cherubic Hymn I (2023). His scholarly interests focus on liturgical studies and theology, comparative theology, and the relationship between time, culture, and worship.

He has presented papers at the Society of Oriental Liturgy Congress (Washington, DC, 2024) and at the international conference “Theology in Times of Crisis” (Bochum–Zagreb, 2025).
