Alumni Spotlight - Ordination of Fr. Nathan Williams
September 10th, 2017

Holy Trinity Seminary graduate, Nathan Williams (HTOS 2005), was ordained to the priesthood on September 10, 2017, the feast day of St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Richmond, Maine.

A number of other Seminary graduates gathered for the celebration. Metropolitan Hilarion (HTOS 1972) celebrated the service, while Rev. Fr. Ephraim Willmarth (HTOS 2011) and Fr. Deacon Anthony Williams (HTOS 2013) co-served. Deacon Evgeny Utnyukhin (HTOS 2005) and Subdeacon Michael Bartosh (HTOS 1969) also attended.

Expressing the strength of Holy Trinity's legacy at the event, Fr. Chad Williams, the Rector, addressed his parish at the festal Trapeza, reflecting on how HTOS inspired his son, Fr. Nathan, to dedicate his life to serving the Church and laid the foundation for his future career as a certified Russian translator. Fr. Nathan became fluent in Russian at HTOS and was accepted to Middlebury College for a graduate degree in Russian. Fr. Nathan has translated a variety of Russian theological texts into English, most notably the works of Fr. Daniel Sisoev. His work has earned him a worldwide reputation for his skill.

The newly ordained Fr. Nathan will join Fr. Chad as second priest of his fast-growing parish of 140 members of whom two-thirds are not Russian. We thank God for such a flourishing parish!

We wish the newly-ordained Fr. Nathan мънога лѣта!
