The 28 th annual ROCM (Russian Orthodox Church Musicians’) Conference took place this year from October 2-6 at Holy Epiphany Parish in Boston, MA. The theme of this year’s conference was “Continuity and Growth: Ensuring the Future of Liturgical Chant in Our Parishes”.
Seminary Dean, Nicolas Schidlovsky, who was among the founders of the original ROCM Fund, dating back to the early 1980’s, took the lead in conducting Saturday’s round table discussion, which focused on a review of the objectives that have always been the motivating factor behind these conferences. He was accompanied to the conference by Deacon Michael Pavuk of the Development Office in Jordanville.
The conference was dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Pavlovich Roudenko, who had served for many years as the choir director at Holy Epiphany Parish.
The divine services were led by His Eminence, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada.
