Diaconal Ordinations of HTOS Seminarians and Graduates

In the past month, three current or former HTOS seminarians have been ordained to the Diaconate to continue their service to the Orthodox Church.

On the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord (6/19 August), Subdeacon David Parker, a distance learning student at HTOS, was ordained to the diaconate by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse. He will carry out his service to the Church at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in London, Ontario, and will be ordained to the priesthood in October. Deacon David is originally from Clydebank in Scotland and is married with seven children.

On the patronal feast of Holy Trinity Monastery's lower church, Saint Job of Pochaev (28/10 August), Subdeacon Theodore Foley (HTOS '24) was ordained to the diaconate by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse. Upon graduating from HTOS, Deacon Theodore will carry out his service to the Church at Saint Elizabeth the New Martyr mission in Cullman, Alabama, and will also be ordained to the priesthood in October. Deacon Theodore is a former United States Navy serviceman and is married with one child.

On the feast of the Right-Believing Great Prince Alexander Nevsky (30/12 August), Subdeacon Patrick Hinds (HTOS '23) was ordained to the diaconate by His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of ROCOR, during the patronal feast of Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, New Jersey. Deacon Patrick will carry out his service to the Church at Saint Elizabeth the Martyr Church in Rocky Hill, New Jersey. Deacon Patrick is married with one child.
