Recent Ordinations of Seminary Alumni and Current Students

It is with immense joy and deep gratitude to God that we share the news of the many recent ordinations to the diaconate and priesthood of current students and graduates of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary.

On the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord (6/19 August), Subdeacon David Parker, a distance learning student at HTOS, was ordained to the diaconate by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse. Thereafter, on September 14/27, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, H.E. Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada ordained Deacon David to the Holy Priesthood. Fr. David will carry out his service to the Church at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in London, Ontario. Fr. David is originally from Clydebank in Scotland and is married with seven children.  He is currently undertaking seminary education through our Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary’s online CTS program.

On the patronal feast of Holy Trinity Monastery's lower church, Saint Job of Pochaev (28/10 August), Subdeacon Theodore Foley (M.Div. anticipated 2024) was ordained to the diaconate by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse. Then, on October 11th, Deacon Theodore was ordained by Bishop Luke to the Holy Priesthood. Fr. Theodore will continue serving at Holy Trinity Monastery until the culmination of his seminary education, and God willing next summer, he will be assigned by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas to the newly established mission dedicated to the New Martyr Elizabeth in Cullman, Alabama. Fr. Theodore is a former United States Navy serviceman and is married with one child.

On the feast of the Right-Believing Great Prince Alexander Nevsky (30/12 August), Subdeacon Patrick Hinds (M.Div. '23) was ordained to the diaconate by His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of ROCOR, during the patronal feast of Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, New Jersey. Deacon Patrick will carry out his service to the Church at Saint Elizabeth the Martyr Church in Rocky Hill, New Jersey. Deacon Patrick is married with one child.

On October 8th, H.E. Archbishop Kirill of San Francisco and Western America ordained Subdeacon Seraphim (Stojanche) Andov (B.Th. 2015) to the Diaconate. He is currently serving at St. Seraphim of Sarov parish, in Seaside, CA. In January, together with his family, he will be moving to Hawaii and will continue serving at the Holy Theotokos of Iveron Parish.

On October 14th, H.E. Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America ordained Subdeacon Nikola Tambur (student B.Th. 2019) to the Diaconate. The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place in the "Holy Virgin Protection Russian Orthodox Cathedral" where Fr. Deacon Nikola will be serving.

On October 15th, H.E. Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada ordained Subdeacon George Luimes (B.Th. 2018) to the Diaconate. Fr. Deacon George and his wife Sarah have two daughters, Claudia and Apollonia. He has been assigned to serve at Our Lady of Pochaev Mission in Grassie, Ontario.

On October 29th, with the blessing of H.E. Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America, H.G. Bishop Luke of Syracuse ordained Reader Jorge Luque-Martin (B.Th. 2022, M.Div. anticipated 2024) to both the Sub-Diaconate and the Diaconate. Fr. Deacon Jorge will continue serving in the monastery as he completes his studies in the M.Div. program. After his graduation next June, God willing, he and his wife Stefanida will be moving to Houston and will be assigned by Archbishop Peter to serve in a Spanish mission parish which will be established in connection with St. Jonah Orthodox Church.
