Fr. Seraphim Baltic, HTOS Alumnus, class of 2008, was elected as an Episcopal candidate in the Serbian Orthodox Church in America. AXIOS!

On Zaccheus Sunday (5/18 February), Deacon Alban Illingworth, a distance learning student at HTOS, was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

In that 2023 was the 75 th anniversary year of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary in Jordanville, NY, the Synod of Bishops of ROCOR, in a meeting of the Synod during September, 2023, discussed encouraging ROCOR clergy who do not have and formal theological formation/training to look to pursue this.

It is with immense joy and deep gratitude to God that we share with all of you the recent ordinations to the diaconate and priesthood of students and graduates of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary.

In the past month, three current or former HTOS seminarians have been ordained to the Diaconate to continue their service to the Orthodox Church.

Protodeacon Andrei Psarev returns to St. Nektarios of Aegina Parish in Lenoir City (Knoxville), Tennessee.

From May 26–28, 2021, a regular plenary session of the Inter-Conciliar Assembly of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in Moscow, in the Church Council Hall in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

I am very pleased that Archpriest Andrei Sommer, dean of the main church of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia—the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, agreed to speak with me and answer all my questions, telling me about the pillars of ROCOR, and about his own spiritual path. The Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia celebrates two anniversaries this year connected with one of the most venerated saints of the diaspora: St John of Shanghai and San Francisco. June marks the 125th anniversary of his birth, and the 55th anniversary of his death is this July.

Archpriest George Larin, the Rector Emeritus of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY, is a treasure-house of the history of St John. He met Vladyka as a boy in his native Shanghai in the early 1940’s, and has felt his patronage his entire life. This is the second part of a two-part series.

On the Great Feast of the Annunciation of Our Most Holy Lady, Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary,  HTOS Alumnus Daniel Semenov, class of 2016, was ordained to the diaconate in the church dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” (Moscow, Russia) by Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk.

On Sunday, Mar 8/21, the first Sunday of the Great Fast, the monastery celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the triumph over the heresy of iconoclasm. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse; Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary. Vladyka was co-served by the monastery clergy. With the blessing of the Synod of Bishops, during the Small Entrance, Igumen Theophylact (Clapper-DeWell), HTOS class ’86; longtime cleric of the monastery and teacher in the seminary, was raised to the rank of archimandrite. Axios-Axios-Axios to Archimandrite Theophylact, and may he be blessed with many more and healthy years of monastic labor in Christ’s Vineyard, and salvation!

From the Western American Diocese: "On the 24^th of June, 2017, Archpriest Mark Gomez, a beloved cleric and spiritual father of the Western American Diocese, peacefully reposed in the Lord."

On July  17, 2014, Fr. Ephraim Willmarth was ordained to the Priesthood by His Eminence Gabriel, Archbishop of Montreal & Canada. Fr. Ephraim is a graduate of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary and currently is the Administrative Assistant at the Seminary.
