On the weekend of December 11-12, commemorating the Martyr Paramon and the 370 martyrs with him, at the invitation of cathedral rector Mitred Archpriest Serge Lukianov, the seminary choir traveled to St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Howell (Lakewood) NJ to sing the responses to the Divine Services. Also present during the Divine Services was the miracle-working Icon of the Mother of God; the Softener of Evil Hearts.

Thanks to many of our wonderful benefactors, we are pleased to announce that the final amount raised for Giving Tuesday was $27,485.77!
And thanks to several other generous donors, we can now add to that the match of an additional $25,000, bringing the amount raised for Giving Tuesday overall to $52,485.77.

With the blessing of the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Deacon Andrei Psarev, Professor of Russian Church History and Canon Law at Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary, is organizing a conference “Links between Times: Conclusions and Perspectives. On the Centennial of the Russian Church Abroad” in Belgrade, Serbia, this November. Fr. Andrei is collaborating with Dr. Radovan Pilipović, Director of the Archive of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Jordanville’s Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary opened the 2021-22 academic year on Wednesday, September 1, reaching the exciting milestone of having a total of 40 students on campus. This student body includes nine (9) new graduate, and five (5) new undergraduate students. Thirty-Two (32) of our students are from ROCOR, and eight (8) are from other Orthodox jurisdictions.

On June 29/July 12, the Feast of the Holy, Glorious, and All-Praised Leaders of the Apostles, Peter and Paul, His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse, Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery and Rector of the Seminary (HTS Class ’78) was honored by the monastery brotherhood, and the seminary and local communities for celebrating 40 years since His Grace’s ordination to the Holy Priesthood in 1981.

From May 26–28, 2021, a regular plenary session of the Inter-Conciliar Assembly of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in Moscow, in the Church Council Hall in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

On Sunday, June 6, the Sunday of the Blind Man, commencement was held to mark the conclusion of Holy Trinity Seminary’s 73rd academic year.

Holy Trinity Seminary announces that commencement exercises for the class of 2021 will take place this Sunday, June 6. A Molieben of Thanksgiving will be served in the monastery cathedral beginning at 2:00pm EST, followed by the academic procession and commencement exercises for the conclusion of the seminary’s 73rd academic year. The ceremony will be held outdoors under a large tent this year, and is open to the public.

On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the third anniversary of the falling asleep in the Lord of Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov, a delegation from Holy Trinity Seminary traveled to Lakewood to participate in the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy and the blessing of the permanent monument at Fr. Valery’s grave, which is located directly behind the beautiful cathedral which he designed and built.

On Sunday, Mar 8/21, the first Sunday of the Great Fast, the monastery celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the triumph over the heresy of iconoclasm. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace, Bishop Luke of Syracuse; Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary. Vladyka was co-served by the monastery clergy. With the blessing of the Synod of Bishops, during the Small Entrance, Igumen Theophylact (Clapper-DeWell), HTOS class ’86; longtime cleric of the monastery and teacher in the seminary, was raised to the rank of archimandrite. Axios-Axios-Axios to Archimandrite Theophylact, and may he be blessed with many more and healthy years of monastic labor in Christ’s Vineyard, and salvation!

Holy Trinity Publications is pleased to announce its forthcoming publication of the first detailed examination in English of the challenges to Orthodox ecclesiology that have arisen following the intervention of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the affairs of the Ukrainian Church in 2018.
